Parent and
Tot/Infant Playgroup
The
playgroup runs weekly:
Wednesdays 9:00-11:30am and 1:30-3:00pm
These are informal, drop-in playgroups for parents
and their children.
If an interest is shown, resources and information can be
accessed from staff as per the group or individual request.
The
playgroup takes place at the Partners office.
We have a separate area
for the playgroup with tons of toys and books.

Positive
Parenting - Tips & Tools for Moving from Frazzled to Fun!
This
is a parenting class offering strategies for
dealing with children of all ages.
We will discuss various aspects of parenting such as the different
parenting styles,
the importance of encouragement, taking care of yourself
as a busy parent, positive discipline and many more topics.
We will also discuss some survival strategies for dealing
with a child though the summer months.

Parenting a
Child with Challenging Behaviors
This program provides practical
solutions to parents who have children with challenging behaviors.
The program is designed to helps you
create a positive, respectful, and rewarding relationship between you and
your child.
Anger
Management
For Parents
and Children
Adults and children will learn how
to recognize their anger and deal with it in a healthy, non-violent and
constructive manner.
The workshop is for parents and children ages 5-10.
Space
is limited so phone early to register you and your child.
If you are a
parent and wish to register alone you are more than welcome.

Sisterhood
An
8 week program for girls ages 10-15.
Salvaging Sisterhood is designed
to teach relationally aggressive girls how to effectively communicate with
each other as opposed to talking about one another.
This program is designed to be presented in a school
setting.
If your school is interested please call. We are willing
to facilitate over a two day period instead of an 8 week program.
Healthy
Relationships for your School
Healthy
Relationships is a violence prevention curriculum designed to provide
students with the skills
to form healthy relationships with peers and the
opposite gender as well as develop conflict resolution skills.
The
program is designed for Grades 7, 8, and 9 but we would be willing to adapt
it to fit any grade level.

Adult
Friendship Group (AFG)
The Adult Friendship Group meets at
Partners on the last Wednesday each
month from 4:30pm - 7:30pm.
New faces are always welcome! It is very
informal so you do not have to pre-register.
The Adult Friendship Group
provides a welcoming atmosphere for people to meet, enjoy good food and
great company.
Activities revolve around cards, board games, potluck meals
and good conversation.
Occasionally the group participates in activities
such as bowling and mini golf.

Inclusive Social
Thinking Program
Sponsored by Royal Bank of
Canada, Humboldt, SK
There is a
fee for this program and space is limited.
If we teach students to think
socially they ca n take their thinking and use it effectively across many
situations.
The goal of this program is to
shift the focus of control from educators and parents to the individual.
Classes are offered to the
following age groups:
-
kindergarten to grade 2
-
grades 3-5
-
grades 6-8
-
grades 9-12
Each age group will attend
class once a week at Partners for Rural Family Support in Humboldt for one
hour after school from 4-5 pm.
50 minutes will be direct
instruction for the children while the remaining 10 minutes
will be spent with the parents
outlining the concepts learned and covered in the weekly session.

Emergency Cell
Phones are available for people whose safety may be at
risk.
Aurora
Project
This is an
ongoing program providing support and assistance to individuals wishing to
leave abusive situations.
The Aurora Project offers drop-in support during our office
hours.

When a
Relationship Ends
This program will help with you with
healing and rebuilding of your life after the end of a marriage or
interpersonal relationship.
Healthy
Relationships
This program
is designed for Grades 7, 8, 9.
Developed in the early 90's,
by Men for Change, in response to the killing of 14 female engineering
students in Montreal in 1989,
this program was created by
teachers to supplements the Health Curriculum. This program is no cost to
your school.
Healthy Relationships is a

Children
Who Have Been Exposed to Family Violence
This 9 week
program is designed for children ages 6 to 10.
The goals of this
group are to help children identify and express their feelings,
breaking
the silence of abuse in
their families in a positive and safe environment.
A Parent component runs at the same time as the
children's group.
The focus of this group is to review with parents
what their children are learning in their own sessions,
while offering
each other support and information on how to assist their children in the
healing process.
Survivors
of Family Violence Educational Support Group
This is a 7 week educational support
group which encompasses both educational material and personal
sharing on
domestic violence in a supportive environment.
Drop-In
Group for Parents
T his
is a very informal group for parents to come and meet other parents in
the community and discuss parenting issues they may be struggling with.
The
group focuses on children aged 0-12. There is no date set for this
program yet but phone to be placed on a wait list.
Jumpstart
Canadian Tire Jumpstart is a
charitable program that helps kids in financial need
participate in organized
sports and recreation such as soccer, and hockey and swimming.
Participation in sports and
recreation increases a child's chance of success in life through:

important leadership skills
